Doing things like that gives atheists a bad name. It’s exactly what theists would expect us to do. Make fun of religion. It’s immature and disrespectful not just to theists, but to atheists as well. While I would have laughed and maybe shared that photo on my FB wall, I feel like it isn’t appropriate for the official American Atheists page to mock religion so carelessly.

You can be as troubled as you want Doodle. I am sure you are an expert on women and war and Buddhism. It is easy to understand why you have trouble with intelligent women who laugh at you. Anyway as to your foolish other comments. We don’t build just societies with unjust tactics. Unjust tactics lead to “tit for tat” games, hateful words for more hateful words, that escalates into ever and ever greater violence and more numbers killed as each side seeks revenge and to outdo the other. There are ways to accomplish goals without unjust tactics IF you are smart enough to set aside your own EGO and fears to search for them. It really comes down to a battle of Egos. AND the one that has control of their Ego will win. That is something you can learn from reading The Art of War. You have an out of control Ego. —– Original Message —–

I’d have to say though susan I have never met a woman that was not overbearing.Ever, ever. If what you say is true. You would not anger your husband over anything and would be a perfect woman, but this troubles me, because i believe it is not true..

The golden rule is he who has the gold makes the rules. You’d make a great Buddhist. Really. For one exception though Buddhist will wage war. and rebuke their adversary regardless to respect and benifits of kindness,

Yes we can win better. Destroying religion completely is a certainty a last resort. Sort of like asking yourself. Should I stop the Muslim’s from killing me, or should I stand against tyranny, or be kind to them. Eventually you grow towards wisdom if only in the face of death..

Who is socially “gauche” Mr. Flannery? The fool that uses verbal nastiness and ridicule or the fool that believes in God but behaves civilly towards others?

Actually, verbal nastiness and ridicule is exactly what takes superstitions out of play as acceptable social currency. People don’t mind believing something that is wrong, or even dangerous. But believing something that is socially gauche? Forget it.
