Because shaming middle schoolers is what made America great.

What? The kid just now forgot how to stand for it? Did he just “become” autistic Now?!

Friday the memo went to schools & memos were posted on class room walls. I will be at Hobbs middle school, standing on the military post side of the road, across from the school, with my sign, telling students who don’t stand for their country, need to be recognized as disrespectful, un-American & should be ashamed

When I was a kid in the Sarasota, Florida school system (memory says I was in elementary school–early 80s), I was fairly well read for my age…advanced reading level. One day, I decided it was hypocritical to stand up for the Pledge of Allegiance when there clearly wasn’t “justice and freedom” for all. The teacher came over and grabbed me by the arm and tried to yank me out of my seat, but I held on tight to the sides of the desk and she eventually gave up. Some fellow student came over and started screaming at me about how his dad was in the military and how he was fighting so we would have freedom and how I should be ashamed of myself, and how I was betraying this country and everything it stands for.
