Yep- are u a member of American atheists? Joining them has helped me not only because I did donate $50 to the cause (u don’t have to give $ I do cause they get politically involved where I cannot even open my mouth) but just reading their news about the action they are taking makes me feel good that people (atheists) are doing something

Because Christmas is not everyone’s holiday. Why do you consider an inclusive greeting like Happy Holidays to be hateful? It includes your holiday. Would you be OK with Starbucks only having cups that said Happy Yule? Why are so many Christians upset about an inclusive greeting that includes other values or beliefs than their own? Because those Christians are intolerant.

What hate? Educating people that they have the power to free themselves from tradition and from a religion that has a history of intolerance toward those that do not believe in their magic sky god is not hateful.

Dude, I’m with you man. I’m a self employed tattoo artist / atheist that has to choke down my beliefs to stay in business. A lot of people want to get crosses tattooed on them (which is a torture device) and while I’m doing it, I tell them about how Moses committed genocide and mas rape. Also the story of Job and such. It makes me feel better about doing the tattoo that I have educated a blind follower a little, but it also guarantees they won’t come back for more tattoos. I am a christian hater that is struggling to find a way to turn my hate into pity or understanding. It’s just so difficult when I operate in a small town with a really low education level. I only have 4 years of college behind me and I feel like I’m the only one for miles that can think out of the box.

I strongly uphold people’s legal right to believe in spirits, leprechauns and so on.

At the same time, christianity and other anti-scientific religious beliefs, and the use and promotion of group ritual, and following the leader based on peer pressure and discouragement of questioning and dissent in churches, are not benign. These beliefs and practices are being spread around the world, coerced on children and people in need, are used to decimate indigenous cultures, increase church profits and power, rationalize war and genocide, and destroy the climate and environment.

It’s important to expose people to other ideas and views.

I imagine people in religious cults in Colorado who are denied access to media, who may at least see a billboard that leads them to ask questions, or feel supported in their doubts and dismay for the religious hypocrisy of being good out of fear of hell. Or those billboards being seen simply by people who hear only that message every Sunday, and that’s all they ever heard in their homes growing up.

And it beats referring to a delusional belief in god as mental illness.

I’d like a mug of Happy Holidays. And a fleece jacket (women’s 4x) with at stitched on it (small, on the left, as a tasteful monogram, instead of a little alligator..)

Yes. Yule was hijacked by the pope. Happy Yuletide! Merry solstice!
