About the Author

Bard was born in 1924 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After a formal education which included two years at Lancaster?s Franklin & Marshall College, he entered the U.S. Army Air Force where he spent some time during the Second World War. He was employed as a supervisor in the cigar tobacco storage industry, where he worked for thirty-two years, retiring in 1980.
